Experience It! Years 7–10 : Inspiring the Next Generation of Engineers

Experience It! is an initiative of Engineers Australia's Women in Engineering, Sydney Division, designed to encourage and inspire young women to explore engineering, science, mathematics, and technology through hands-on learning.

The program challenges students in Years 7–10 to complete three real-world engineering tasks using the Engineering Design Process (design thinking). Working collaboratively in teams, participants develop creative solutions to practical problems while building confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

By providing students with an authentic insight into how engineers work in the real world, Experience It! helps foster curiosity and encourages more young women to pursue STEM pathways. Initiatives like this complement BIOTech Futures' mission to make STEM education more accessible and inspire the next generation of innovators and future leaders.
